Trail Map
Description: Dirt
bike and ATV users will find many miles of trails from easy to
challenging, within the area’s 2,600 acres. The terrain ranges from
hardwood hammocks and tight scrubs, to numerous pits left from
discontinued mining operations.
Camping: Yes, campers
may ride from the campground into the surrounding off-road riding area.
Hours: Gatehouse is
open 8 AM until 5 PM seven days a week.

Camping - $20.
State Forests in Florida require a Off-Highway
Vehicle Annual Permit. Off-highway motorcycles (OHM’s)
or dirt bikes, all-terrain vehicles (ATV's), and
recreational off-highway vehicles (ROVs) are
prohibited on State Forests except designated
areas at Withlacoochee State Forest Croom
Motorcycle Area.
OHV permits can
be purchased at the entrance to
Withlacoochee State Forest Croom Motorcycle
Area. The cost is prorated.
Any Off-Highway
Vehicles (OHVs) operating on public lands must be
titled, as required under Ch. 317, F.S.,
through the Florida Department of Highway
Safety and Motor Vehicles. To secure an OHV
permit an applicant must have proof of
title. OHVs from out of state may be exempt
from this requirement, provided the state of
origin does not require titling and/or
registration of OHVs.
The OHV permit must be visibly displayed and
permanently attached to the left front area
of each dirt bike and ATV. Persons operating
dirt bikes
and ATVs without a permit will be subject to
expulsion and or fine.
